Hi Casey,
How are you? I am a Honeymoon/Vacation Specialist and the owner of Honeymoons By CASSANDRA, LLC. I have sent clients to both Couples Swept Away, and Sandals Whitehouse. Both of these, and the others that you’ve mentioned are romantic-themed locations. I would love to oversee the arrangements of your honeymoon experience. If you would like to proceed further, feel free to contact me. Meanwhile, if you view my website, you will find the descriptions of the two that I mentioned, and, I look forward to the possibility of your business, if not, it was a pleasure to speak to you anyhow
If you want a resort “with nice, high quality food” then why the hell are you going to an ALL INCLUSIVE? You do know All Inclusiveness have the cheapest frozen foods and watered down booze.. right? For that matter, Sandals is just another cookie cutter resort, so it doesn’t really matter if go there or to one of the other cookie cutter resorts in Jamaica or any other island because they are all the same.
Our Kid and her Husband stayed at Sandals Negril plus we have walked the beach there and talked with very nice ppl who work at the resort. Nice place, clean beach with lots of water sports and a breakwater that is set up well for what I think was massages at the waters edge.
The food was reported as very good. The beach chairs have towels on them so you do not need to drag your own for the chair, inventive beach staff and the room was “clean and very nice” .
PLUS your right next door to Hedonism II resort so you can get a night pass and enjoy a late night at the piano bar (make sure Deon is working the night you go) then some time at the Disco /bar and down to the pool and hot tub bar till 5am or so.
As an ex travel agent I can tell you that the all-inclusive hotels DO NOT serve frozen food or watered down booze. The hotels have very good chefs in the kitchen, and you can order any kind of alcohol.
Most of the beaches are great on the North Coast, although Negril has been names one of the best beaches of the Caribbean.
I would choose Couples Swept Away because I think it scores higher in every aspect and a honeymoon there would be exquisite.
Enjoy your Jamaican honeymoon.
All of the resorts you mentioned will be crowded. Some have rooms that number into the hundreds. Can you imagine? Several hundred rooms at one resort, and a little stretch of beach. I got married at a resort just south of Negril called Coral Cove in Little Bay, Jamaica. The property has 12 rooms in total, so even when it is sold out, it pails in comparison to a resort that has several hundred rooms. We got married in 08 and have returned every year. It is quiet and a true taste of Jamaica, plus it is only 20 minutes away from Negril. So, if you want to go and party, you can. BUt this way you are not stuck in a bustling resort that you never get any privacy in. Also, it is impossible to meet the real Jamaicans. Whichever you choose, check the total room numbers in a resort if you want an intimate experience. If you do make it to Coral Cove, tell them Thomas and Katelyn recommended the place to you! Have fun in Jamaica!
I’d recommend Sandals Whitehouse- hands down!
It has a long, private beach, no other resorts in sight. It’s like being on your own private island. It’s one of the most popular Sandals resorts because guests love the staff there and love the restaurant and food selections. Also, the perk of this resort is that every single room has an ocean view, even the lowest priced rooms.
Sandals Negril and the Couples resorts are nice, but none of them compare to Sandals Whitehouse in my opinion.
