Personally I’ve only stayed at the resort based on New Orleans which was great but heres a link to an article about “romantic” disney world resorts..
animal kingdom Lodge with a savannah view. personally for a honeymoon I would go with a one bedroom villa there
The Grand Floridian is elegant, but very, very expensive.
The Grand Floridian is absolutely beautiful for a Honeymoon! That’d be my first choice. My second choice would be the Polynesian because that has a tropical feel and a beach! Both of those are so nice and perfect for a honeymoon! Congratulations!
To pick which resort, first you have to figure out how much money you want to spend. There are three types of resorts, values, moderates and deluxe. If your going for your honeymoon, i would skip the values and check out some moderates or deluxe. Some really great moderates that could be good for a honeymoon are, Coronado springs and port orleans french quarter or riverside. Coronado springs is really great because it has some things other moderates do not have. Such as:
A health club
A spa
A convention center
This resort is also really good because it is used for conventions, which means less little kids running around. On the down side the pepper market wasn’t Very good nor the sit down restaurant. Also, some rooms are VERY far away from the main lobby, pool, shops, sit down restaurant and pepper market.
Port Orleans FQ and RS are both Fabulous resorts. I would recommend staying at the RS because it has a sit down restaurant and the bus to all theme parks visits RS first. If you stay at RS, make sure to request the magnolia mansions because their rooms seem to be bigger and nicer then the alligator bayou. The rooms may be nice at RS but at FQ the rooms are even better. The rooms at FQ are bright and cheery and it makes you feel like your at the real french quarter! The food at FQ and RS was great! As well as the pools (you can go to both since they are sister resorts). If you stay at one of these resorts you have acces to the other sister resort that you didn’t stay at (food court, resturaunt, ect.).
On the other hand, you can stay at a deluxe resort. These resorts are a little bit nicer then the moderates. The deluxe resorts also have WAY BIGGER ROOMS, SO YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER THIS. The deluxes also have around 2 or 3 sit down resturaunts. The deluxe that I would reccomend would be the Floridain Resort and Spa!
This resort is themed like an old 1900′s mansion. This resort is great because it has a famous and well known spa that guests have acces to on a daily basies. This resort is also very cool because you can request a room that has a balconey looking out over the Magic Kingdom. These balconeies are great because at night when you come back from a day at the park, you can just sit and wacth the fireworks togethor! SUPER ROMANTIC! Also, this resort has monerail acces allowing you to enjoy just a quick ride to the magic kingdom or EPCOT. Please take note that no moderate resorts have this option.
You can also book a split stay between a moderate resort that you like and a deluxe resort that you like! So you get the best of both worlds!
I hope i helped and i hope you have a magical stay!
Well, I personally would pick Pop Century for several reasons.
1 – It’s definitely a “fun” hotel. You can get a room in the section of years you and your spouse graduated and walk down memory lane.
2 – It’s a value hotel. If you’re going to Disney, you’re going FOR Disney and won’t be spending a huge amount of time in the room. All the extra space isn’t really necessary for the two of you.
3 – It’s a value hotel. That means that you can use the difference from what a deluxe resort would cost you to book a “better” vacation – maybe a good dining plan, maybe a private boat to watch Illuminations at Epcot, maybe a nice cut crystal palace you can take home as a reminder of your special trip.
4 – You’re on your HONEYMOON for goodness sakes! You could stay in a cardboard box under a pier and think it was romantic because you’re on your HONEYMOON!!!! That kind of romance won’t come from a particular room setting – it comes from the rush of being on your honeymoon.
Although, honestly, I would probably book the vacation at Pop Century, then, add one extra day to the vacation and book a room with a really nice view at a deluxe resort. For me it would probably be a room in the Contemporary with a castle view. Then you finish your vacation, pack up, move to the last night in the really nice room, have a great dinner and then leave in the morning… plus you’re already mostly packed from the night before so not a lot of pressure or running around.
No offense but Disney and romantic can’t be in same sentence.
