I live in FL. I would go to the Keys for a honeymoon. It’s a huge chain of islands you have to take a bridge to get to each one. Nothing but warm weather and beaches! Perfect vacation spot. Or go to Panama City. I heard it is gorgeous there too.
Check out Amelia Island. It’s in the northeast corner and is a very quaint, romantic town.
The Keys are the warmest place in Florida in October, but there’s no guarantee of no jellyfish except in a hotel pool.
The ocean is the ocean, and it has ocean life no matter where you go. There are jellyfish on occasion, but they’re not confined to any one area of Florida.
The guy that recommended Destin did good, but Destin can be a bit crowded and has something of a party atmosphere. If you want seclusion, try areas between Destin/Ft. Walton Beach and Pensacola. That whole area from Panama City to Alabama is beautiful though; the nicest sugar-sand beaches in the country, beautiful water, perfect temps in October. October is my favorite month to go to the beach there because the summer heat has slacked a bit, but the water is still nice and warm.
My best suggestion would be Navarre Beach or Pensacola Beach. The beaches are just as good as Destin, but there are far less people. In fact, there are many miles of National Seashore that have no development at all. The air temp in October will likely be in the 80s, and the Gulf will still be very pleasant to swim in.
No matter where you go, remember the stingray shuffle. Don’t stomp through the sand, shuffle your feet. Stingrays like to bury themselves and are almost invisible. They’re very docile, and if you kick them they’ll just swim away. If you stomp on them and pin them down, they’ll sting. Welcome to Florida!
